What do you think could have been better about INET 2004, INET 2002, and earliers INET conferences?

Previous INETs have suffered, I think, from lack of focus. They have tried to run a large number of tracks, and in so doing have competed ineffectively with a large number of smaller, more regional, and more focused conferences. For example, if you were a librarian a decade ago, you might have come to INET to figure out how the Internet differed from BITNET and how you might best use it; now you would more likely attend Dublin Core. I think a better choice for future INETs would be to pick one or two central topics and discuss them.

I'm drafting a report to the ISOC Board on INET 2004, documenting what worked and what didn't. Your feedback would be very, very helpful. Thanks in advance.
